Who we Are

The Bahrain Rowing & Canoe Centre (BRC) was established in 2016 to provide both amateur and elite rowers a professional centre to row, compete and build a community.

The centre brings to focus Bahrain's long maritime tradition and relationship with its waters.

We aim to actively promote the sport of rowing amongst schools and universities and attract events and world class regattas within the Kingdom of Bahrain.

BRC collaborates with leading clubs, varsity teams, and federations including the World Rowing Federation, FISA (Fédération Internationale des Sociétés d’Aviron) and the values espoused by the rowing community.

Our Hopes

At BRC we strive to bring people together through rowing and the love of water.

We wish for the values of rowing and olympism to be exemplified on the water and in daily life; and to that end we are building a community of pro-active, supportive and inclusive athletes to help build our country and its accomplishments.

Specifically, we're hoping to develop an elite rowing team from all parts of Bahrain to compete at the highest levels and be the home of the Bahrain National Team. The Olympics; we're coming for you!

Founders

BRC was founded by passionate athletes at Autarky Advisors and Summit 7, who wanted to reconnect with the Gulf's long maritime history and water resources.

BRC was setup to bring water-based sports back to Bahrain and create a truly impactful sporting social enterprise that connected people, culture and the environment in an inclusive manner and showcase beautiful Bahrain.

It is in essence, a gift to Bahrain.
